Effective April 7, 2015, any vehicle driving in Massachusetts must turn on their headlights and taillights if windshield wipers are needed. Many vehicles require the headlights to be on in order to activate the taillights. Just using your daytime running or fog lights will not work.
You can be pulled over for violating this law and will receive a citation in addition to a surcharge on your Safe Driver Insurance Plan (SDIP) rating. This might impact your auto insurance premiums.
