Auto Insurance

Auto insurance covers more than just your car. It also protects you, your family and your fellow drivers—that’s why finding the right coverage is so important. There are a lot of options out there. Trust D&O to help you find the most suitable insurance for your needs at the most competitive rate.

Auto insurance protects you from financial losses incurred as a result of traffic accidents. It also covers your liability for any bodily injury or property damage you or your family members cause to other people while driving. In most states, including Massachusetts, auto insurance is mandatory.

There are many different types of auto coverage available, some of which are required by law. These may include:

  • Bodily Injury Liability
  • Collision
  • Comprehensive
  • Medical Payments or Personal Injury Protection
  • Property Damage Liability
  • Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverage

Changes in Massachusetts Law - For the past 30 years, Massachusetts state regulators have set auto insurance rates and restricted the types of coverage drivers could buy. Under the new system, known as managed competition, insurance companies are free to set their own rates—subject to minimal state oversight

Experts agree: Shopping around will save you money on your auto insurance. So why not let D&O do all the work for you? We have relationships with more than 25 major carriers, so we can confidently secure the best insurance for you at the lowest rate.

Bodily Injury Liability

This coverage applies to injuries that you cause to someone else while driving your car. You and family members listed on the policy are also covered when driving someone else’s car with their permission.

Collision

This covers losses to your auto when you are involved in a collision with another car or object, or as a result of flipping over. It also covers damage caused by potholes.

Comprehensive

This covers your financial loss due to theft or non-collision physical damage to your car, such as fire, windstorm or vandalism.

Medical Payments (Personal Injury Protection)

Also known as personal injury protection or PIP, this coverage pays for your medical treatment—as well as that of other passengers in your car—administered as a result of an accident.

Property Damage Liability

This covers any damages that you or someone driving your car with your permission inflicts on someone else's property, such as their vehicle, fence or building.

Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverage

This coverage protects you, your family members or someone driving you car with your permission in the event that one of you is hit by a driver with no insurance or insufficient insurance.
